Ronnie Coleman continues to perform same workouts from his prime despite multiple surgeries

Ronnie Coleman has again proved why he is known as the legend of bodybuilding. Coleman has earned 8 Mr. Olympia titles in his lifetime and won many other pro competitions, thanks to his massive size and condition. However, over his lifetime, he underwent a total of 13 surgeries, including 8 on his back, 3 in his neck, and 2 hip replacements.

One might think that such a high number of surgeries could easily stop anyone from doing intense physical activities, specifically working out in the gym. But Coleman does not know how to stop being legendary.

On July 11, the 8-time Mr. Olympia shared an Instagram post showing him performing the dumbbell bench press, the same as he did during his competition days.

“If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I'm still doing the same workouts I was 20-30 years ago…. Just with a little Lighter weight,” stated the caption of the Instagram post.

At 62, Coleman may not use the same weight as he used to, but he maintains the same posture and process to complete the reps.

The basic difference between 'The King’s' prime training and current training is the shift from an approach of intense spinal-loading powerholding to low-impact, isolated mobility rehabilitation.

During his prime, specifically between 1998 and 2005, Coleman’s main focus was on building muscle; currently, he focuses on neurological recovery and joint mobility.

However, this is not the first time Coleman has shared glimpses of his current workout with his fans.

On May 11, Coleman shared another short clip where he was seen doing a bench press with a lighter weight.

He captioned the video, “Yeah Buddy, Light Weight Baby!! That’s how we do it in the FLEX!!”

There is no doubt that, at this age and after so many surgeries, Coleman still refuses to give up. Now, the question is: what was Coleman’s intense workout routine that helped him win 8 Mr. Olympia titles?
