Ronnie Coleman Shares a Funny Moment With Larry Wheels at the Gym: “I Was Knighted”

When two of the most respected names in the fitness world, Ronnie Coleman and Larry Wheels, hit the gym together, what can you expect? Wheels recently posted an Instagram video of himself and Coleman together at the gym, and what followed was hilarious.

The duo can be seen together in the gym with Wheels down on his knee and Coleman standing above him holding his crutches. He used the crutches to ‘knight’ Wheels, causing everyone to share their funny reactions to the video.

“I was knighted by @ronniecoleman,” the Instagram caption read.

The joke reflected the playful moment shared between the two, where Coleman raised his crutch over Wheels, resembling the ceremonial act of knighting someone with a sword. It reflects a light-hearted nod towards eight-time Mr. Olympia, Coleman, whom Wheels immensely respects.

The laughter and fun might be coming easy now, but Coleman earned his legendary status and respect through decades of unmatched hard work and dedication at the gym. His relentless work ethic helped him build one of the most respectable bodybuilding careers of all time.

The workout ethic that made Ronnie Coleman a bodybuilding legend

Coleman did not win eight Olympia titles by fluke. He worked tremendously hard, made mistakes, and learned from them to better himself.

As per Muscle & Fitness, Coleman shared some of the top training tips that he learned over time and experience. These include-

  • Train with heavy weights

Don’t be afraid to lift heavy.

“From my years of experience, I’ve discovered that the following factors constitute the formula that will produce the highest quality of striated muscle in the shortest time,” Coleman said.

He emphasizes the importance of training heavy in order to activate your muscle fibres. Without stressing your muscles enough, you won’t push them to grow. Activating your muscles is supremely important, but, of course, do them under the guidance of a professional trainer.

  • Opt for 10-15 reps per set

Over the years, Coleman found that a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 15 reps per set is ideal for most exercises. With lighter weights, of course, you can go for higher reps. But Coleman always focuses on training with heavier weights for optimal results.

  • Don’t go to failure

Unlike many athletes, Coleman doesn’t believe in pushing your muscles to failure. Instead, he tries to receive the maximum benefit from more reps.

  • Try supersets and giant sets

According to Coleman, the best way to pump a muscle with maximum blood volume is with supersets or giant sets. Just one set is enough to get the perfect amount of stress required for muscle growth.
