Ronnie Coleman Shares His Supplement Insights & Target For a Bigger Back at 62

Even at 62, Ronnie Coleman has proven why he is known as a legend of strength and determination. While many at this age struggle with daily movements, Coleman has set a goal to build a bigger back.

And the 8-time Mr. Olympia also showed his fans the supplements that are helping him push his physical limits.

On June 23, Coleman shared an Instagram post updating his Target, adding captions. He added, “Time to get that bigger back baby!!”

Later, talking about the supplements he added, he said, "Workouts these days are powered by @rcss_ supplements!”

In this part, Coleman discusses the Ronnie Coleman Signature Series. It was launched on October 11, 2011, at the 1st Annual Arnold Classic Europe in Madrid.

Since then, RCSS has expanded globally.

Even in the Instagram post, Coleman was seen taking supplements like:

  • King Rest 8x: a testosterone support supplement
  • Yeah-buddy: Coleman's signature pre-workout powder
  •  L-Carnitine XS 4000: liquid L-carnitine supplement.

Now, talking about his bigger back target, The King was also seen doing the Behind-the-Neck Lat Pulldown exercise.

Although he no longer does traditional heavy back exercises because of numerous surgeries and mobility issues, Coleman never stopped exercising.

He is currently prioritizing therapeutic back exercises, a mobility routine, and stretching.

Coleman may be working more slowly now to build a bigger back, but at his peak he had one of the best backs in bodybuilding, and for that he used to follow an intense routine.

Ronnie Coleman’s back workout routine during his prime

Coleman currently focuses on light weights, but during his prime, his exercise technique was different. At that time, he followed a heavy weight workout routine.

According to Muscle and Fitness, during the competition days, Coleman’s “back was like a great symphony orchestra, big and booming, sometimes overwhelming, yet each finely tuned part played its role precisely.”

So, for width, he used to follow a back routine that included the following:

  • Barbell Row: 5 x 10-12
  • Seated Cable Row: 4 x 10-12
  • Machine Pulldown: 3 x 10-12
  • Underhand Pulldown: 3× 10-12

For thickness:

  • Deadlift: 4 x 6-12
  • Barbell Row: 3 x 10-12
  • T-Bar Row: 3 x 10-12
  • Dumbbell Row: 3 x 10-12

So, even at 62, Coleman maintains the relentless approach that helped him become the 8-time Mr. Olympia winner and a legend.
