Samantha Rice Becomes Heaviest Deadlifter in Women’s Bodybuilding As She Smashes Multiple World Records

Dec 12, 2025, 4:30 PM CUT

“Made some changes this prep, already paying off,” wrote Samantha Rice in the caption of a clip she shared on Instagram, featuring her in a classic deadlift stance as she lifted some iron off the ground just a week before the 2025 King & Queen of the Platform 5.

And talk about staying true to her words, the 35-year-old once again etched her name in the history books by breaking not one but four Raw World Records, including claiming the title of the all-time deadlift queen.

How Samantha Rice made history

Held in Port Charlotte, Florida, between December 6 and 7, Rice contested in the 90 kg weight class, which was enough to see her etch remarkable records. Her day started with squats. Already having achieved the U90kg world record back in 2024, this year again saw her push past her previous best once again. Her third and final squat attempt came in at 282.5 kg (622.8 lb), which she locked out smoothly.

Consider squats as the start to her lucky day, as the event was followed by a bench press job. Once again, Samantha Rice easily managed to chase 163 kg (359.4 lb). Even though this is a number she set last year, it did take some grinding for her to re-rack her bar. Yet, the super mom managed to do so well that it not only improved her U90 kg record but also marked a new competition personal best for her bench.

As if the above two lifts weren’t impressive enough, Samantha Rice had to pull the outrageous in the deadlift event. With a whopping lift of 297.5 kg (655.9 lb), she managed to clinch a world record, as it turned out to be the heaviest of all time in women’s powerlifting. It also saw her edge past Tamara Walcott’s previous mark of 297 kg (654.8 lb).

When all was said and done, Rice finished with a massive 743 kg (1,638 lb) total, which is her fourth world record of the event. This is indeed an improvement from her previous U90 kg Raw Total All-Time World Record of 725 kg (1598.4 lbs), which she set at the 2024 WRPF The Ghost Clash 3.

Having competed in and won more than 24 sanctioned events, Samantha Rice’s latest performance once again reminds the world why she is regarded as one of the greatest powerlifters of all time. All she needs to do is continue setting new milestones for herself, as well as change her Instagram bio that features these good old all-time-in-the-world numbers, “S 617.3-B 359.3-D 644.9,” don’t you think?
