Samara Weaving's workout and recovery routine after intense action scenes

Best known for her breakout performances in Ready or Not and The Babysitter, Australian actress Samara Weaving recently shared her workout and recovery philosophy. Her action-packed roles often demand that she remain physically fit and active. Furthermore, she recently revealed that she was pregnant with her first child, giving her more reason to take care of her body and mind.

During a recent interview with Marie Claire, Weaving discussed her approach to fitness and exercise.

“I wanted to find something similar that wouldn’t put so much pressure on my back. I found a really great yoga place, I mean, it’s LA, so every second shop has some yoga thing. So I’m lucky in that sense,” she revealed during the interview.

Weaving shared how she had not gone to the gym in almost seven years, relying mostly on yoga and minimal push-ups. However, her recent roles demanded a certain toned physique, pushing her to find her way back to the gym.

That said, she revealed during the interview that she loved running, comparing it to the relaxation of meditation. However, a recent scoliosis diagnosis restricted her from engaging in her favorite activity.

“I used to run a lot, I would run five to 10 miles a day, and I miss that a lot. It was sort of just trying to figure out how I could get the same endorphins,” she admitted in the interview with Marie Claire.

Now pregnant and juggling action roles, Weaving leans hard into recovery. Now, packed with a new action role and her pregnancy, the recovery aspect becomes even more important.

The recovery rituals that keep Samara Weaving ready for stunt-heavy roles

Weaving’s action-packed roles and characters often leave her worse for wear. She heavily relies on relaxing recovery rituals, especially now that she is pregnant.

"Any movie that requires action—and Ready or Not was a lot—I would have Epsom baths for an hour," she told Women’s Health during an episode of Well Said. "I think that's what carried me through."

She also admitted to enjoying regular trips to the spa. Due to her demanding roles, she was often left with nails she described as “terrible and disgusting”.

To care for them, she opted for manicures and pedicures. Furthermore, also enjoyed getting massages every week, especially after her pregnancy.

By prioritizing rest, recovery, and self-care, she ensures that she stays ready for whatever comes next- professionally and personally.
