7 Fit WWE Female Wrestlers Who Returned to Action after Childbirth

Motherhood is a part of life’s journey, not the end of a career. Still, there's a rooted narrative that becoming a mother would be an obstacle; many female wrestlers went on to prove to the world that it was a myth.

After a short break to start their families, inspirations like Naomi, Ronda Rousey, and many others came right back to the ring with just as much determination and fitness as before.

Legends like Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch made major comebacks within months after childbirth. It’s not difficult to see why these women have become a huge inspiration to others all over the world.

During an interview on RAW Recap, Nikki Bella explained how her son is her biggest motivation for returning to the ring.

"He's honestly the main reason why I have wanted to come back, because I want my son to be ringside and see what mommy's made of, what mommy's done her entire life."

Here’s a look at some of the most inspiring female wrestlers who came back to the ring soon after childbirth.

  • Ronda Rousey

A force to be reckoned with in the ring, Ronda Rousey soon returned to the ring, winning the women’s Royal Rumble in 2022 after having a child. Since then, she has had another child post-WWE.

  • Becky Lynch

Married to fellow WWE star Seth Rollins, Becky Lynch made a historic return to the ring after stepping away in 2020 to welcome her daughter.

Her 15-month hiatus culminated in a shocking appearance at SummerSlam 2021, where she immediately captured the SmackDown Women’s Championship in a matter of seconds.

  • Beth Phoenix

A WWE Hall of Famer, Beth Phoenix has two daughters with Adam "Edge" Copeland.

After stepping away from the company in 2012, she officially returned to WWE television for her 2017 Hall of Fame induction, which ultimately paved the way for her highly anticipated in-ring return at the 2018 Royal Rumble.

  • Candice LeRae

Both Candice LeRae and her husband, Johnny Gargano, took a break from their WWE careers to raise their son.

However, their passion for the sport soon brought them back to the ring, juggling parenthood and WWE brilliantly.

  • Alexa Bliss

Alexa Bliss had a daughter with singer Ryan Cabrera, surprising fans by returning to WWE as a Royal Rumble entrant. Since then, she has won the Women’s Tag Team Titles and is currently teamed up with Charlotte Flair.

  • Nikki Bella

Bella has often cited her biggest motivation to return to the ring as Matteo, her son. Now, she enjoys a full-time career and parenthood at the same time.

  • Naomi

Although Naomi has not officially announced her return date to WWE after pregnancy, there's no doubt that if she ever did, the professional wrestler could come back at full force.

The former Women’s World Champion has remained an integral part of women’s wrestling since her debut in 2009.

These famous WWE female wrestlers showed the world how parenthood and a full-time career can go hand in hand. What do you think of their stories?
