66-Year-Old Bodybuilder Shares the Workouts and Supplements That Keep Him Strong

At one point or another, we all became mesmerized by the stories of athletic seniors who stay fit and wondered how they do it. One such story has been written by this 66-year-old bodybuilder, who, in a recent interview, revealed his workout philosophy and the supplements that are his strength mantra.

On April 20, the Instagram account of 'evrydayclub' posted a short clip in which the host asked the secret of the 66-year-old pro bodybuilder, Wayne.

Wayne, who started working out at 17, revealed the workout approach in the form of a suggestion for all aging people.

Talking about his philosophy of working out, the IFBB Pro said, “You just start. Get on a treadmill, walk, just stay active. Like my grandmother used to say just never stop moving.”

He admitted that just 1 hour of dedicated workout can do miracles. Apart from that, older people like him, after 50, could choose to do only 3 sets of different workouts with moderate weight, instead of the intense 5 to 6 sets.

Some special suggestions he gave for his followers, which he also follows, include:

  • A cardio session before or after a workout is a must
  • Try to be careful to avoid injuries while working out

Apart from that, on his Instagram, some of the exercises the bodybuilder frequently does are:

  • Biceps concentration curls
  • Spider Curl with dumbbells
  • V-taper
  • Dumbbell incline bench press
  • Preacher curl
  • Incline barbell bench press

Wayne also has a suggestion for the people who said they can't achieve it because of their age. He said, “I hear that all the time because I trained some people and I said, give me a couple of months and I'll show you what I'm talking about.

Block out all the negative stuff trying to tell you too old because they don't want to do it. If you stick with it for a couple of years, you could transform your whole body and feel much better, much stronger, have more energy.”

Furthermore, Wayne also opened up about the supplements he takes.

During the interview, Wayne added that a healthy diet and proper sleep play a vital role in his fitness.

He admitted to taking 8 to 9 hours of sleep. Additionally, talking about his supplements, the bodybuilder said,

“Creatine, vitamin A, B. I take peptides because, you know, I'm older.”

To support his thyroid, he takes T150 and T157.

Talking about testosterone, Wayne said, “Any guy over, like I say, 40, check with your doctor because it's going to get low. Test it, and they give you enough to boost it up.”

However, young people at age 19 or 20 do not need to do that. Instead, they can focus on hard work and a healthy diet.
