60-Year-Old Michaela Strachan’s Fitness Routine Without Traditional Gym Workouts

There are a few people who, after 50, often choose to be less active due to physical constraints, but the TV presenter and singer Michaela Strachan, at 60, maintains a toned physique without even going to the gym.

Let’s unroll the secret behind her fitness.

Strachan recently turned 60, and she leads a very busy life. As a wildlife presenter, she has always been very fit and healthy, but the singer of the “H.A.P.P.Y. Radio” song faced serious health issues.

According to Women’s Health, she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014 and underwent a double mastectomy. But she never stopped taking care of her body and health. Her weekly fitness routine includes:

  • Yoga
  • Pilates
  • Training with weight
  • Hiking (two-times a week)
  • Ice skating

On November 16, 2025, the grandmother of two posted a video on her Instagram. The post reads “perfect way to do a workout! Barre class with mum, baby, and grandmum! It was hilarious, lots of babies looking adorably cute as us adults sweated! What a joyous way to keep fit.”

In the video, she was seen doing exercise at home and doing:

  • Stretching
  • Kickback in tabletop position with resistance band

During an interview with Radio Times, Strachan revealed that she even suffered from anorexia during her teenage years.

The 2025 Dancing on Ice runner-up decided to be fit and said, “Let’s just be fit, let’s look after my body.” I’m not a health freak, but I eat pretty well. I’m not a heavy d******. I’m quite a disciplined morning exercise person – hiking makes me happy.”

Strachan is perfectly balancing health and work. She even works at 60 and has shown no signs of slowing down or retiring.

Michaela Strachan’s busy working life

Strachan lives a very busy life, presenting shows and giving interviews. According to SAGA, she has worked on 50 series so far.

In fact, last month she was busy with her show “Not Just A Wild Life.” It was a theater show, entirely dedicated to her life, which she has spent working on screen for the last 40 years.

At 60, Strachan is living a healthy, active life. On February 27, the “Animal Zone” presenter posted a video on her social media and shared that she is on a new journey with the BBC, searching for snow leopards.

The post reads “Adventures In Conservation: Searching For Snow Leopards.”

For the adventure trip, she trekked in the mountains of Uzbekistan in search of the “Ghost of the Mountains.”

So, the real secret of Strachan's fitness is regular exercise and her never-ending enthusiasm for work.
