A decade after she first donned the armor, Gal Gadot's intense Wonder Woman training is inspiring fans again. A resurfaced clip on Instagram showcases the hard work behind the role, reminding everyone how she became the iconic Amazonian princess.
People weren't happy when it was announced that Gadot would play Wonder Woman, but eventually she proved everyone wrong.
Instagram account @asylum.entertainment shared clips from Gadot's time as Wonder Woman. They were clips from her training and behind-the-scenes footage from the DC film, showing her immersed in action.
Gadot first played the superhero in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016, and the positive reviews led to a solo movie in 2017, which was a huge success. But behind the success lies intense hard work and training that Gadot endured.
She trained under Magnus Lygdback and went through many martial arts drills, including stances, footwork, punching, and kicking. And although there was some empty-handed action, most of the film had her working with her sword and shield.
Here is a full breakdown of her training program:
Warmup:
- Assault Bike (5 minutes)
- Assault Bike High-Intensity Intervals (6 rounds of 20 seconds on/off)
- Alternating Biceps Curls (3 sets of 8 reps)
- Skull Crushers (3 sets of 12 reps)
Superset 1:
- Biceps Cable Curl/Triceps Pushdown (3 sets of 12 reps)
Superset 2:
- Isolated Biceps Curl (3 sets of 10 reps)
- Lateral Raise (3 sets of 12 reps)
- Hollow Hold (4 sets of 45 seconds)
Talking about her experience, the former Miss Israel said, "I have to tell you that being a dancer helped a lot. Because at the end of the day, it's all about choreography. I enjoyed it deeply, holding a sword and a shield. I had a blast, and I enjoyed working with them."
All the hard work paid off as not only was the film a major box office success, but she also received praise for her portrayal as the Amazonian princess. And now that the clip has resurfaced, even that is receiving love from the fans.
