The mainstream ripped physique is vastly different from the kind of physique you see in bodybuilding. However, among the few who have transcended that niche to earn mainstream appeal other than Chris Bumstead is Ryan Terry, at least according to Fouad Abiad.

In a video by @beyondthestagetv_, Fouad Abiad compared the Men's Physique Olympia winner to having a similar appeal to soccer icon David Beckham.

"He’s like a David Beckham of bodybuilding. I see him being like that, just the all-time icon. You know? That mainstream, everybody wants to look like that on the beach," said Abiad.

And if you're wondering why the comparison with Beckham is because Ryan Terry is also British. While David Beckham’s global reach needs no introduction, Terry has also amassed nearly 3 million followers across social media. However, it's not just the popularity.

As a Men's Physique competitor, Terry has a far more relatable physique than champion open bodybuilders like Hadi Choopan, Smason Dauda, or Derek Lunsford.

"He is that guy. And he’s got the looks to go with it, so I mean, it doesn’t hurt either, right?" added Abiad. In fact, even six-time Classic Physique Olympia winner Chris Bumstead has praised Ryan Terry's physique.

Before the 2023 Olympia, in one of his prep vlogs, Chris Bumstead mentioned Terry. In fact, he even talked about being inspired by Terry's ab workout.

"Ryan Terry told me that his best ab exercise is hanging leg raises and knee raises. So all I do is hanging leg raises and knee raises. Maybe my abs will look like Ryan Terry, that’s how it works," joked CBum.

While Bumstead wasn't being serious about doing only two core exercises, his praise for Terry signaled just how appealing a physique the three-time Men's Physique champion has built.

So it's clear that Fuad Abiad's praise for Terry isn't really overblown. After all, it's one thing to build a fan following, it's another win Olympia titles and impress the Classic Physique GOAT.
