330 lbs Samson Dauda Aims for Almost 390 lbs in Two Years After Breaking His Weighing Scale

In bodybuilding, the heavier and fuller an athlete appears onstage, the stronger the visual impact. Since the mass monster era, it also means a higher chance of winning against the world’s best. History proves it. At his peak, Ronnie Coleman stepped onstage at 297–300 lbs (135–136 kg).

It was a number that set the standard for modern mass monsters. But a few days ago, Samson Dauda posted an update on Instagram, weighing himself, and the scale couldn’t handle it. The machine broke under his weight. Even Ronnie, at his heaviest, didn't weigh more than 330 lbs in the off-season. However, Dauda is aiming even higher.

Does Samson Dauda Really Want to Touch 390lbs?

After the incident, Dauda had some downtime during a trip to Alicante, Spain, where he sat for an interview. The interviewer asked him the obvious question: “Have you ordered the new scale yet?”

Dauda smiled immediately, recognizing what the reporter was referring to. “Yes. So it came. It literally came the day we were leaving. So I'm curious to go back home when this is and carry on the offseason and see what it will be from that point on," Samson Dauda said before explaining his goal.

"But yeah, going over 152 (152 kg -335 lbs) was definitely a milestone I was surprised to reach,” he added. A second question followed: “What’s the max weight the new scale can do?”

Dauda replied: “The max weight is 180. So maybe in about two years, if I hit that, it reaches max. I don’t know if that’s something I should be worried about or something.”

The idea of Samson pushing toward 180 kg (396 lbs) within two years stunned fans and analysts. For context, that would place him far beyond the competitive weight of almost every Mr Olympia contender in history.

Dauda’s climb in weight over the last two seasons has been one of the most dramatic in modern bodybuilding. He moved from roughly 286 lbs at the 2023 Mr. Olympia to crossing 330 lbs in his 2024/2025 offseason, marking an increase of nearly 50 lbs in a short period. The scale-breaking moment highlighted how far his physique development has progressed, but another question looms.

Will Putting On More Mass Be of Any Use?

While his weight draws comparison with the 8x Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman, there's another aspect where Coleman was ahead despite his size: Conditioning. Besides his size, what made Coleman so dominant was his peeling condition that highlighted every fiber.

Unfortunately, Dauda, despite having the size and proportions, has lagged in condition. It's one of the reasons why, despite their size disadvantage, Hadi Choopa and Derek Lunsford have the lead in their three-way Olympia rivalry.

So what do you think? Should Samson Dauda continue chasing size? Or should he focus on conditioning? Let us know in the comments.
