3x Mr. Olympia Ryan Terry Targets ‘GOAT’ Status in 2026

Even after winning three Mr. Olympia titles, Ryan Terry isn't slowing down. During a recent interaction with ‘BeyondTheStageTv,’ Ryan Terry expressed that, for him, it is all about becoming a legend.

“This year is purely about goat status. We talk about legacy, but it's getting that goat status.”

When asked if he could attain said status by the end of the year, Terry remained measured in his response, saying, "I can't say that, to be honest. I'm not that type of guy, but if people don't think it, I'll have to win a fifth one just to solidify it.”

Well, Terry already has three consecutive Men's Physique titles. But to get to a legendary status, he will have to go for another win this year. Currently, Jeremy Buendia holds the record for four straight wins in the category between 2014 and 2017. Terry could equal that this year.

And that looks like his goal. “There’s one more big goal, to go down as the greatest Men’s Physique athlete ever,” said Terry in his conversation with the Gulf News.

He further added, “Jeremy Buendia has four titles, so I want to match him next year and hopefully surpass him with five. Then I’ll disappear into the sunset.”

But could it match the 2025 win?

Ryan Terry's Favorite Mr. Olympia Win

Winning a third consecutive Mr. Olympia meant more to the British star, who believed the achievement further cemented his legacy with plenty of time left in his career.

“I don’t know why, but this third title means so much more than the first and second,” he said in his conversation with Gulf News. Matching Jeremy Buendia could bring him even a greater sense of achievement, considering his bodybuilding journey.

He kicked things off back in 2010 when he made a strong start at the Great Britain contest at the age of 21. However, early setbacks nearly made 2023 his last year in the sport, but a win changed things.

Ryan Terry’s bodybuilding career might last for a few more years before retirement. Given that, what are your thoughts on him?
