Just months ago, Lucy Wilde was sharing glimpses of life as a British Army medic, from fitness routines to barracks moments. However, on February 5, tragedy struck when the 25-year-old was found unresponsive.

A loss that sent shockwaves across British media, she was found unresponsive in her living barracks at an army base after she failed to report for duty. It was her dog, Bruno, whose constant barking caught the attention of her colleagues, and upon checking, they found her completely unresponsive.

The Army later confirmed the news of her death in a lengthy tribute shared on Instagram on Feb. 12.

“She was known for her calmness under pressure, tireless care for others, and unwavering commitment to her role.” The tribute further talks about her involvement in certain missions where Lucy’s inclusion saved the day for the entire team.

Concluding it, they said, “Our thoughts are with Lucy's family, friends, and colleagues at this heartbreaking time. Rest in peace, Lucy. You will always be remembered as part of the Welsh Guards family. Cymru Am Byth.”

On social media, just three days before her death, Lucy shared that she had been having a very rough time in her life for the past five months.

She revealed that she was struggling mentally and felt ‘in a rut.’ She also said she was still recovering from a breakup, believed to have been with an older army colleague.

Her demise has shocked the nation to the core and has forced the British military to order a strict investigation.

British Army Launches Investigation After Lucy Wilde’s Demise

As per the reports by YorkshireLive, the British Army has launched a formal investigation into the circumstances. However, the authorities are not treating anyone with suspicion.

The Ministry of Defence, in a statement, stated, “Our thoughts are with Cpl Wilde's family and friends at this sad time, and we ask that their privacy is respected. The circumstances surrounding Cpl Wilde's death are being investigated, and it would be inappropriate to comment any further at this time.”

With a social media following of 17,000 across Instagram and TikTok, she used to share her daily lifts and life updates. Her last post on February 4 showed her love for her dog, Bruno.

A close friend of hers expressed that she was all smiles and appeared happy just before her demise. The investigation is ongoing, and we might gain some clarity in the future.
