Ukrainian Professional Boxer Shares Intense Band Workout
On July 8, Oleksandr Usyk shared a video on his Instagram, captioning it “WORKOUT🤟🏼.” In the video, he was seen doing a variety of exercises, including:
- Resistance band hammer press
- Weighted rotational lunges
- Landmine barbell punch
- Rotational medicine ball slam (wall and ground both)
- Alternating battle ropes
All these exercises in this session will help Usyk deliver more intense and damaging punches to his opponents. Along with punches, keen focus and concentration play a significant role in dominating the opponent.

Which is why the boxer has recently been training for this. On June 18, he shared a video with his fans on social media. The post said, “Focus and concentration check😁🤘🏻.” In the video, Usyk was seen doing a reaction training drill, which includes:
- Kick drill (Tracking and kicking a small object without dropping it to the ground)
These training sessions are the real secrets behind Usyk’s dominance over his opponents in the ring.
But behind his success, training accounts for only 50%, with the remaining 50% attributed to his dietary habits.
Oleksandr Usyk’s diet
According to RBC-UKRAIN, during the preparation for the bout, Usyk follows a strict diet regimen under the guidance of nutritionist Kateryna Tolstikova. He eats a perfectly balanced, protein-rich diet with precise portions. Different sources of Usyk’s balanced diet include:

- Chicken eggs
- Tuna
- Salmon
- Protein shakes
Fats sources
- Walnuts
- Ukrainian leaf lard
- Olive oil
Carbohydrate sources
- Berries
- Fruits
- Buckwheat
- Whole grain pasta
- Bananas
- Dates
In fact, a typical lunch meal of Usyk includes:
- Salmon or tuna steak
- A lot of Veggies and berries
- 2-3 boiled eggs
- A spoonful of olive oil
- Handful of nuts
- A serving of buckwheat
For snacks, the Ukrainian boxer prefers date sandwiches, bananas, and protein shakes.
So, this perfect combination of healthy eating and regular training makes him a tough competitor in the ring.
