Sports is a field with many inspirational stories, and Kevin Levrone's is nothing short of a miracle.

In the world of bodybuilding, only a few names command the same respect as Kevin Levrone, often regarded as one of the greatest athletes never to win the Olympia title. Despite never claiming the sport’s most prestigious crown, Levrone’s legacy goes far beyond trophies.

@numberdriven shared Levrone's life story on Instagram, and it melted the hearts of many fans on the platform. Being orphaned before adulthood can break anyone's soul, but that very thing became the motivation for Levrone to move forward in life.

In an interview with Simply Shredded, he once revealed the reason he started strength training: "I actually lost a lot of family members [including his parents] from cancer. I figured, 'hey, something’s going on here, I need to stay healthy.' At the time that translated to me, at my age, to wanting to become strong, perhaps to protect and ground myself, gain some power in an uncertain world."

Having debuted in 1991, Levrone has 23 IFBB professional victories in his bag. He made his Olympia debut in 1992 and competed with greats like Dorian Yates and Ronnie Coleman. Although he never won the Mr. Olympia title, his popularity earned him the title of the uncrowned Mr. Olympia.

In 1993, he tore both his major and minor chest muscles while bench pressing around 600 lbs. Reattaching the muscles required a long, complex surgery, with one reportedly lasting around eight hours. Despite the setback, he came back and won the Arnold Classic twice in 1994 and 1996.

About Kevin Levrone, six-time Mr. Olympia, Dorian Yates once said, "If Kevin Levrone had chosen bodybuilding full-time, he potentially could have been better."

Eventually, he stepped back from competition in 2003, but made a surprising comeback in 2016 at 51 by special invitation. He ended up placing 17th despite preparing for only five months.
