Vampire Diaries Sensation Nina Dobrev’s Fitness Secrets and Tips That Anyone Can Follow in Their 30s

Nina Dobrev, who celebrated her birthday on 9th January, 2026, is known not only for her role in The Vampire Diaries. She was also a competitive gymnast who inspires her 27.1 million Instagram followers through her fit physique.
Nina Dobrev's workouts include yoga, strength training, running, boxing, weight training, and walking. “Doing something different [each day] has been the most fun, and I’ve seen the most benefit because you shock your system.” Dobrev told Women's Health last year.
Even if she's not working out, the actress keeps herself active, whether it's through biking, walking her dog, or doing something else. “I need to sweat every single day somehow, even if it’s just in the steam room," Nina Dobrev added.
Nina Dobrev does multitasking while working out. She used to bike with her script while learning her lines. The actress revealed to Shape that she built a home gym during COVID and said, “ 'It's really nice to have that flexibility of working out, whether it's really early in the morning before I got to set, or really late at night when I get home from set, or after a long flight.”

Although the former gymnast said “I just love working out,” but she also incorporates rest days in her fitness routine. While speaking to Refinery29, she said, “If you don't feel like working out or eating healthy one morning, just take some time to yourself and hit the refresh button. Tomorrow is a new day.”
Nina Dobrev’s diet
Nina Dobrev does not follow a very restrictive diet but makes sure to have a balanced meal. Her usual breakfast includes a smoothie made with kale, banana, almond milk, spinach, and Sunwarrior protein powder in chocolate flavor. She occasionally goes to brunch, which includes pancakes and French toast.
The actress often has grilled salmon, avocado, and salad for lunch. For dinner, Nina Dobrev prefers eating a healthy bowl with wild rice, apples, roasted chicken, almonds, sweet potatoes, and balsamic vinaigrette. On cheat days, she likes to eat a burger.
“I’m getting older and more conscious of what I eat and how I eat it and what I do,” she told WH. And it's this simple approach that anyone can incorporate in their daily routine.
