After winning the 2026 Arnold Classic in Columbus, Wesley Vissers has now set his eyes on the 2026 Arnold Classic UK, and his back workout says that he is leaving no stone unturned to prepare for it.

On March 20, 2026, “The Dutch Oak” posted a carousel of videos on his Instagram that displayed him performing the exercises in his back training regimen. His caption revealed that it was his final back session in his home country, the Netherlands, after which he would be leaving for the UK.

Vissers also expressed his excitement to compete in the UK, stating, "Next stop: the UK 🇬🇧. Always feels like a second home. The energy, the people, the love for bodybuilding; it never misses. Grateful to live this life. To do what I love, and provide for my family because of it."

In the post, the 32-year-old bodybuilder was seen performing the following exercises to muscle up his back:

• Cable bicep curls
• Lat pulldown
• Cable triceps pushdown
• Plate-loaded chest-supported row

He finished his workout by showing his toned back through the mirror with a bicep curl.

However, another video from Vissers on March 19 displayed that he is paying equal attention to building up his legs. The video showed him doing heavy leg exercises, such as:

• Plate-loaded belt squat, and 
• Leg extensions

While his gruelling training shows that the Dutch bodybuilder is all set to show off his perfectly sculpted body on stage in Birmingham, Vissers was also recently spotted preparing with one of his biggest competitors.

On March 17, 2026, Arnold Sports UK dropped a post on its Instagram captioned “Lifting partners in the gym, rivals on stage.” As unbecoming as it may sound, the post revealed that Vissers was training with Mike Sommerfeld, whom he could compete against at the Arnold Classic UK.

The caption read, “2026 Arnold Classic Physique champion @wesleyvissers and 2025 champion @mikethebadass are pushing each other to the limit ahead of their showdown at the 2026 Arnold Classic UK!

Two of the best in the world will meet once again in Birmingham with the Classic Physique title on the line. DON’T MISS THIS! March 27–29 at the NEC.”

The snaps in the post displayed the two performing exercises like:

• Cable triceps pushdown
• Chest-supported row
• Seated chest press

This year, Mike Sommerfeld missed two consecutive chances to compete on the big stage. At the 2026 Arnold Classic in Columbus, his weight mismatch was the issue, and at the 2026 Detroit Pro, he missed registration by two hours. And, ironically, Vissers was the winner in those two competitions.
