What Actually Happened at the 2007 Mr. Olympia? Revisiting Jay Cutler vs Victor Martinez

The 2007 Mr. Olympia is widely discussed among bodybuilding fans to date, largely because of the controversy surrounding it, which involved Jay Cutler and Victor Martinez.
After defeating legendary Ronnie Coleman in 2006, many saw Cutler as the strongest contender to win the 2007 Mr. Olympia. However, the narrative quickly changed when Victor Martinez entered the scene.
Just as Cutler, a part of the bodybuilding community, began viewing Martinez as the potential 2007 Mr. Olympia champion. Many, including a few noted former bodybuilders, feel that Martinez defeated Cutler in the contest, but the latter was adjudged the winner, a decision that remains debated to this day.
According to Peter McGough, Martinez looked better than Cutler on the first day. However, he also stressed how Martinez’s condition faded slightly during the final posedown, while Cutler gave his 100 percent and snatched the victory.
However, Martinez has also discussed the issue in multiple interviews. And it can be safely said that his views don't align with McGough's.
Victor Martinez Accused Jay Cutler of Using His Influence to Win Mr. Olympia 2007
Martinez discussed the controversial results of the Mr. Olympia 2007 during the January 22 episode of the Generation Iron podcast. The episode featured a backstage conversation between Cutler and him.
Subsequently, Martinez accused Cutler of using his influence and making a "deal" with the Mr. Olympia authorities to ensure that he won the contest. He said, "Jay knew people. Jay, you know, knew a lot of people . [So,] could he have made a deal? Maybe—I don't know if he did. But if he did, and he knows he did, then it's on Jay, man."
In another episode of the podcast, Martinez stated that he had moved over the incident. But do his remarks make you think that he is still somehow upset with it?
