Co-actors work together on a certain project for only a few months. But Arnold Schwarzenegger's 2020 reunion with the cast of Kindergarten Cop displayed that those memories can be cherished even decades later.

Kindergarten Cop, featuring noted actors like Pamela Reed and Richard Tyson besides Schwarzenegger, was released in 1990. To celebrate its 30th anniversary in December 2020, Schwarzenegger caught up with six actors via video conference who played kindergarten kids in the movie. And hence, it became a reunion between Mr. Kimble (Schwarzenegger's character) and his kindergarten students.

Schwarzenegger entered the call half an hour after it began. His first words after watching his on-screen students after three decades were, "I haven't seen you guys in all these years. It's like, wild."

The six actors in the conference who played kindergarten kids in the movie were Miko Hughes, Christian Cousins, Brian Wagner, Adam Wylie, and twins, Krystle and Tiffany Mataras. However, none of them had any idea that Schwarzenegger would also join the call later in his Mr. Kimble avatar.

While all of them gave out expressions of being taken aback by Schwarzenegger's entry, Hughes stated, "Are you serious? I'm really surprised. I would've never expected this. It's so great to see you." The group soon got involved in chit-chats, which led to Cousins morphing into his on-screen character of Joseph thirty years later.

Referencing a scene of the movie, Cousins said, "By the way, after 30 years, I want to thank you again for saving my life from Richard Tyson in the locker room area. And I'm glad you ended up with my mom for that movie ... It was a pleasure playing Dominic with you." The group also delved into several other discussions throughout the call.

Kindergarten Cop, made at $15 million (per IMDb), became a massive commercial success, racking up more than a whopping $202 million worldwide. However, besides its staggering earnings, the movie is also a special one for Schwarzenegger.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Labels Kindergarten Cop the Best of All His Movies

Kindergarten Cop may not be the first Arnold Schwarzenegger movie that comes to mind, given that his movies like Predator and The Terminator became iconic enough to establish him as an action hero in Hollywood.

But despite the immense notoriety of his hardcore action movies, Schwarzenegger doesn't count any of them as his best work. Instead, he prefers giving that title to Kindergarten Cop.

The 7x Mr. Olympia-turned actor appeared in a November 2015 episode of The Late Late Show with James Corden, where he called Kindergarten Cop his "favorite" of all the movies he had been a part of.

Replying to Corden's question regarding this, he said, "I think Kindergarten Cop [is my favorite]."

Subsequently, he also disclosed the reason behind his choice, saying, "For so many years, I tried to get into comedy, and I couldn't because the studios made all this money from the action movies."

And hence, Kindergarten Cop was much like a breath of fresh air for Schwarzenegger. He said, "When I finally met Ivan Reitman [director of the movie], and we did Twins, and then we did Kindergarten Cop, I was in heaven."

So Schwarzenegger may have called the movie his favorite since it allowed him to break the stereotype of being an action hero, but Kindergarten Cop's box office numbers speak volumes about how fans also loved it.
