Not everyone looked up to Arnold Schwarzenegger as a legendary bodybuilder. To some, he was simply a dad. His daughter, Katherine Schwarzenegger, has lifted the veil on what it's like to have a famous father.

American author Katherine Schwarzenegger joined SiriusXM's The Nikki and Brie Show for a conversation about the family and social dynamics that shaped her life as a celebrity kid. However, when asked whether her father's popularity fazed her, Katherine admitted she was quite oblivious to it.

"I remember the only time really realizing like, 'Okay, this is different,' because my dad would drop us off at school in a Hummer that had no windows, no doors, and no roof, and I was mortified," Katherine shared.

That was totally not her "vibe". Yet, it was important to keep a low profile. Even though the 7x Mr. Olympia had stepped off the stage more than a decade ago, fans followed him like clockwork.

Along with his then-wife, Maria Shriver, the bodybuilding phenom raised his kids in a gated, Mediterranean-style estate in Los Angeles, California.

In fact, it wasn't until the teenage boys in her school started taking an interest in Schwarzenegger that Katherine truly understood the influence her father commanded. "I was like, 'okay, this is different for me,'" she recalled.

While her last name carries a significant weight, now she has built her own name in the literary world.

Katherine Schwarzenegger's work as a self-help author

The 36-year-old is a New York Times bestselling author and an illustrious lifestyle podcaster.

She has authored multiple books, including her debut release, 'Rock What You've Got', which she published at just 21 years old, sharing her own experiences with body image issues.

Her sophomore self-help book, 'I Just Graduated… Now What?' features interviews from numerous professionals guiding college students in the transition to their careers.

Beyond the pen, she's also a mic personality, hosting BDA Baby, a show about parenting, motherhood, and family life.

She has also worked with ASPCA and Best Friends Animal Society, raising awareness for animal rescue and foster care. She herself has rescued and adopted dogs, including one named Maverick.
