When Dwayne Johnson highlighted his diet plan of 6 meals per day with eggs, bison & more
To build a physique like Dwayne Johnson's, one has to go through intense training and follow a diet considered extreme by the average person. Figuring out what to include in such a diet on one's own can be an uphill task.
But fortunately, "The Rock" revealed what his diet looked like while speaking with Men's Health in November 2022. In the YouTube video titled "Everything Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson Eats In A Day," the American actor revealed his eating philosophy.
Johnson highlighted how he ate "the same thing every day for days and weeks and months. It's very consistent, it's very boring. It's also extremely disciplined."
He shared that he ate 6 meals a day, and shared what he had in his three main meals, which include:
Breakfast
- Eggs
- Meat (steak or bison)
- Oatmeal or brown rice cereal
- Fruits (papaya or blueberries)
Lunch (at 10 or 11 o’clock)
- Rice (complex carbs)
- Chicken breast
- Some greens
Dinner
- Fish, or chicken, or steak, or buffalo
- Some complex carbohydrate
- Greens
Comfort food
Along with his daily diet, Johnson also discussed his go-to comfort food, which includes
- Cheeseburger or sometimes a double cheeseburger with bacon in it
- Avocado
- French fries
- Cookie or crumb cake (for his sweet tooth)
Favorite carbohydrate options
- Sweet potatoes
- White rice
The professional wrestler also revealed that he usually eats sushi on his cheat day and prefers the "turquoise blast roll." This well-balanced diet helps him fuel his daily activities and busy schedule on and off screen.
For the Red One actor, this diet supports a pretty grueling workout routine.

Day 1: Legs
Day 2: Back
Day 3: Shoulders
Day 4: Arms/Abs
Day 5: Legs
Day 6: Chest
Day 7: Rest day
Though Johnson follows an intense training regimen, including regular weight training, cardio is a part of his daily routine. He likes to start his workouts with a 30-50-minute cardio session on an elliptical cross-trainer.
In the Men’s Health video, Johnson also said he prioritizes being fit for longevity and credited his dad with instilling the discipline in training and healthy eating. This combination of a balanced diet and intense training is the real secret to Johnson's healthy physique and active lifestyle.
