When Stephen Curry Hit the Gym With Golf Star?

Cross-sport collaborations between elites continue to break the internet. But beyond the buzz, what does one such training session actually look like? We finally have a look behind the curtains.

In a gripping YouTube video feature, NBA phenom Steph Curry joined Bryson DeChambeau for a golf challenge ahead of the 2025 Ryder Cup. The video titled 'Can I break 50 with Steph Curry' has resurfaced on the internet. But this time, the behind-the-scenes grind is driving the conversation.

Curry's strength trainer Carl Bergstrom posted a short clip from the champions' training session, with the caption, "This collab nobody asked for but EVERYBODY needed to see." No doubt about that. But how did the basketball court blend with the lush green golf course?

Before the athletes stepped onto the Lake Merced golf course in San Francisco, they kicked off their morning workout with a full-body stretching session.

"We did some core, some balance, some glute activation. Now we're gonna push some iron," Bergstrom quipped. While the duo hit some chest exercises, the training focus remained primarily on the lower body for a strong, steady base.

The sports may be worlds apart, but a robust foundation and powerful hip flexors are the threads that connect them. Curry reiterated that same sentiment, "If I can feel balance in my feet, then everything kind of takes over from there."

Clearly, both stars swapped notes in the session. But the real star of the show was yet to begin.

Steph Curry stuns the audience with his top-notch golf skills

Bryson DeChambeau is undoubtedly one of the top golfers in the world. But, with all due respect, the US Open Champion wasn't the one stealing the spotlight that day.

The basketball point guard consistently outdrove the Ryder Cup golfer during the challenge, setting the San Francisco greens ablaze with his swift, smoking shots. He made a drive from 320 yards to 4 feet, then a 5-wood from 243 yards. Another 60-degree wedge from 104 yards had DeChambeau trailing behind.

Curry's finished strong on a birdie for 49. "There are certain days when golf makes sense, and today is one of them," the NBA star admitted. For someone who played golf as a hobby, the verdict was in the result itself.

Even DeChambeau couldn't help but ask: "You need to play professionally,” as Curry responded, "Don’t you start there.”

This might be as close as it gets to seeing Steph Curry pick up the clubs against golf's greats, but it's entertaining nonetheless. Would you like to see the duo pair up again sometime?
