Mike O’Hearn might be a fitness icon, but his wife, Mona Muresan, also matches his workouts rep for rep as she is a seasoned bodybuilder with a stacked resume.

However, her journey wasn’t smooth. She once reflected on her childhood, saying,“The kids on my junior high school track team used to make fun of my skinny legs.”

Born on October 4, 1975, in a small town in Romania, she spent most of her childhood in a poor household. For better opportunities, her family migrated to America when she was 18.

Since she didn’t have enough money for college, she searched for several jobs and eventually found work as a coat checker at a Nebraska steakhouse. One day while working, she gazed upon a picture of a woman with a fit physique and six-pack abs, and she instantly knew what she had to do.

Just a year into training, she looked better than ever, but the real flex came in 2005, when she bought the same Nebraska steakhouse where she once worked as a coat-checker.

After competing at regional championships, her breakthrough came in 2010, when she earned her IFBB Pro Card with a Team Universe Win. Let us have a look at her competitive timeline.
