Despite being one of the richest actors and bodybuilders in the world, Arnold Schwarzenegger still rides his bike everywhere. And the reasoning behind this is everything.

On May 7, 2026, the 78-year-old posted a video montage of himself riding bikes across multiple cities through his Arnold Schwarzenegger Climate Initiative on Instagram.

"Let’s all choose a bike over a car! It’s good for the planet and even better for your body 🌍💪," the caption read. 

For someone who has built his career around a flowy physique over an artificially pumped monstrous build, these microdisciplines only add up to his fitness. However, the greater altruistic purpose behind this choice is something else.

"Go and ride your bike to work. Whatever you want to do, ride your bike instead of using your car, because we want to reduce pollution, and we all have to work together to make this a cleaner Earth. Hasta la Vista, Baby!" the 7x Olympia advised his near 100K followers.

Not only does this choice help reduce carbon emissions and help fight global warming, but bikes also lead to decreased traffic and buffer time on the streets. And the health imperative is obvious.

But Schwarzenegger's activism doesn't just stop at bikes.

How Schwarzenegger is Changing the Global Climate Picture

At times when the world is facing one of the gravest attacks on its natural heritage, with issues like water bankruptcy and accelerating climate change, Schwarzenegger is refusing to surrender to that fate.

Leading a global Arnold Schwarzenegger Climate initiative, the bodybuilding inspiration is using his reach and influence to bring about real changes to the world.

Prompting that change is a broad array of projects, including support to Felix Neureuther Stiftung Foundation, Invisible Dust, and reforestation efforts in Uganda through Jane Goodall Institute.

The Austrian World Summit that the organization conducts every year also works to bring awareness to various environmental and ecological issues from across the globe, sometimes also acting as a fundraiser.

At the end of the day, Arnold Schwarzenegger is not simply a celebrity, but rather a role model who continues to inspire millions across the globe to take active steps towards their own body and the Earth.
