How do you feel about watching Arnold Schwarzenegger play Santa Claus in a movie? 

Prime Video has confirmed Arnold Schwarzenegger’s comeback to the big screen alongside Hollywood's current favorite buff dude, Alan Ritchson. But if you’re thinking it will be a gun-slinging, car-blasting, head-busting action marathon, then you are wrong.

The two are teaming up for a new holiday action-comedy movie, Man with a Bag, which is all set to release on the OTT platform on December 2 and is a new spin on holiday movies. In the movie, the Hollywood legends play Santa Claus, who gets in trouble after someone steals his magical bag of presents.

Now it's up to Santa to get it back before Christmas. So, he is forced to take help from a thief named Vance, played by Ritchson, who himself is also on Santa’s naughty list. The unconventional duo, along with Vance’s daughter and a 'group of misfits,' team up to embark on a mission to save Christmas.

The film will be directed by Adam Shankman of Hairspray and Disenchanted fame, and the screenplay is written by Allan Rice. The film will also star Awkwafina, Liza Koshy, Kyle Mooney, Jane Krakowski, and Ken Jeong. Michael Cyril Creighton and Berkeley James.

The movie will be Schwarzenegger’s return to the holiday comedy genre after 30 years, with his last one being the blockbuster hit Jingle All the Way (1996). As for Ritchson, this will be his second collaboration with Amazon after his successful TV show, Reacher.

Schwarzenegger first shared his excitement for the project on his Instagram page in 2024, praising his co-star, director,  the studio, and, of course, New York City, in the caption.

“It is fantastic to be shooting The Man with the Bag with @alanritchson. Our director @adamshankman is one of the funniest directors I’ve worked with, New York City is an amazing host, working with @amazonmgmstudios is a joy, and I can’t wait to share all of this Christmas cheer with each and every one of you.”

But that's not all from the Hollywood legend.

What Else Is Schwarzenegger Up To?

Man with a Bag isn't the only movie in Schwarzenegger's bag.
The former Governor of California revealed that he is reviving three of his iconic franchises: Conan the Barbarian, Commando, and Predator.

Conan the Barbarian was his mega launch in Hollywood, and movies like The Terminator, Commando, and Predator turned him into the global sensation that he is today.

The Austrian Oak told Variety, “They did an additional Predator, and the director [Dan Trachtenberg] has been doing a great job of that. Now, he wants me to be in the next Predator. We’ve talked about it.” 

He added, “As a matter of fact, Fox Studios has kind of rediscovered Arnold. They’ve come to me and said, ‘We want you to do Predator, we just got a script for you to do Commando 2.’”

Addressing how much he has aged since the release of these films, Schwarzenegger clarified that all three roles will be written to better adapt to his current age.
