WWE Legend Paul Wight reveals his lowest weight since before WCW at 360 pounds

Better known to wrestling fans as ‘The Big Show,’ WWE legend Paul Wight has spent decades dominating the ring with his colossal 7-foot frame. The larger-than-life giant is now making headlines again, but for a different reason – his incredible weight loss journey. A recent Instagram post revealed him at his lowest weight since before WCW – 360 pounds.

Wight shared an Instagram post on July 29, 2026, highlighting his major weight loss from over 400 pounds in 2021 to 360 pounds now. The mirror selfie showed him smiling widely as he flaunted his flexed abdomen at the gym.

“Currently 360lbs. Lowest I’ve been since before WCW. Pretty damn happy with my progress and more importantly consistency. Today is better than yesterday. #gym #motivation #giantabs,” the post was captioned.

The Instagram post quickly gained traction online, gathering over 42.7K likes and over 1K comments within days.

Wight has always struggled with his weight, with him weighing well over 500 pounds during the late 1990s and early 2000s. Astonishingly, he once weighed 537 pounds before realizing that he needed to make major lifestyle changes.

Since then, he has lost roughly 177 pounds thanks to his lifestyle and diet changes.

The training & nutrition plan behind Wight's 177-pound loss

After struggling with his weight for the majority of his professional career, Wight decided to make some lifestyle changes. However, he did not do it in an unhealthy way with crash diets and overtraining. Instead, he followed a detailed workout and diet plan that helped him lose over 100 pounds.

During an interview with WWE, Wight shared how he had to completely recalibrate his mindset to lose the weight. He admitted the difficulty in resetting whatever he learned about dieting and physical behaviors over 40 years.

"I wanted to make a change, I was given the time and opportunity to make a change, so I took advantage of it,” he said, as per Men’s Health.

Back on May 22, 2020, Wight shared a part of his workout routine via his X account.

He can be seen focusing on resistance training with controlled movements. Instead of prioritizing heavy lifting, Wight engaged in cable exercises and functional training to improve his mobility, reduce any stress on his joints, and consistently lose weight over time.

His diet was as simple as his workout plan. Focusing on protein, vegetables, and whole foods while eliminating junk was his primary agenda. Although the process was tough, it was finally worth it when he faced the scales.

Do you think you could stay as consistent as Wight on a long-term fitness journey?
