Zoe Saldaña shares a glimpse of her latest gym workout
Award-winning actress Zoe Saldaña is known for more than her roles in Star Trek, Avatar, and Guardians of the Galaxy. At 48, Saldaña’s disciplined approach to fitness has turned many heads, as she is required to be in top shape for her action-packed roles.
On Saturday, July 11, Saldaña shared a glimpse into her latest gym workout via Instagram, stunning fans with her dedication and intensity. She is seen engaging in a series of intense exercises, including step-elevated kettlebell squats, kettlebell lunges, and regular lunges.
The 48-year-old followed it with one-legged glute bridges with an added challenge with a resistance band around her thighs, bicep curls, and dumbbell overhead triceps extension.
Captioned, “Still here #workout,” Saldaña's Instagram reel showcases the hard work that goes into creating and maintaining a toned physique like hers.
Those kettlebell workouts are an excellent way to enhance lower-body strength while engaging the core. Furthermore, these workouts help maintain posture and stability while improving balance.
But in a packed schedule that most actors have, how does Zoe Saldaña prioritize healthy living? Her core focus remains on healthy eating.
How Zoe Saldaña focuses on clean, healthy eating
Zoe Saldaña has often shared how making time for regular workouts can be challenging, especially with a full-time career and three kids. Instead of grinding at the gym daily, she turns her focus to healthy eating.
In a 2017 interview with SHAPE, Saldaña revealed how she changed her eating habits, opting for a more balanced diet.
"I can’t work out regularly, so I compensate by eating a lot healthier than I might otherwise," she said (as quoted by Women's Health). "Once you have relatively healthy eating habits, your workout can become playing with your kids, strolling around the neighbourhood, playing airplane, or just changing diapers."
One thing the Avatar star doesn’t believe in is restrictive diets. Instead, she opts for fresh food that is good for her physical and mental health. Furthermore, she tries to steer clear of packaged foods, revealing how she has lost trust in them.
Saldaña's diet is plant-heavy, has less meat, and she enjoys preparing her own meals and has been experimenting with Asian spices in the kitchen, playing around with ginger, turmeric, and other such spices.
She has also turned her diet gluten-free and dairy-free. This decision came soon after she realized she had to stay away from inflammatory foods due to her autoimmune condition.
